At Forever Golden we offer different types of jewelry to personalize our customers style and budget. If you are wondering what type of metal the piece you are purchasing is made of, you can find the material in the product description & then reference here for a better understanding on how to wear & take care of your pieces.

Gold Plated:

A gold plated piece of jewelry is a piece of metal with a thin layer of gold on top. Most of our gold plated pieces have 925 Sterling Silver underneath unless stated otherwise. If taken care of properly, gold plated jewelry is an affordable option that lasts.

The finish on plated jewelry may fade over time from wear & tear. To help protect the look of your jewelry, it is best to avoid getting it wet. This includes lotions, perfumes, hand sanitizer, salt water, chlorine water, cleaning products, while showering/bathing and while exercising. Chemicals found in personal body products brake down the metal & alter the appearance so we suggest putting on your jewelry pieces last when getting ready to go out.

You can gently clean these pieces with a soft, dry jewelry polishing cloth but be cautious with frequent cleaning as rubbing too much will take the plating off. Rub your jewelry in one direction to avoid scratching. Do not use jewelry cleaning liquids or harsh cloths such as tissue or paper towels.

925 Sterling Silver:

Sterling Silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver & 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. 925 Sterling Silver is a durable metal that can be worn daily or often.
